2010-09-17: Best Of: Abandoned Ship (coffee)
The Coffee Ships were huge! Ploughing through the sand with screwpumps. It might seem unlikely that one could sink, as this one seems to have, but the Moist Desert's sands can be treacherous.
If there's one thing a brush is good for, it's long flowing lines of sand dunes. Round heads? Not so much. Mesas are okay, though.
Expect the Coffee Ships to show up again, just not necessarily in a comic. Maybe outside your house?!?! I'm not sure what to talk about for this one. Is it interesting that I coloured the mesas with progressively less saturated colour as they receded into the distance? It kind of works, kind of...
Continuity buffs should be aware that the Coffee Ships antedate the diaspora, except that travelling large distances got a lot faster at one point, so not everyone shows up on a planet at the same time.
